Discarded byproducts from the above-ground Shindang Central Market are given a new dimension through the hands of artists from the underground Shindang Creative Arcade. This experiential exhibition, designed to encourage a joyful encounter with hidden and neglected elements, allows visitors to directly touch and experience various textures.

지상의 신당중앙시장에서 버려진 부산물들이 지하 신당창작아케이드 예술가의 손을 거쳐 새로운 감각으로 드러난다. 숨겨지고 소외된 것들을 유쾌하게 마주할 수 있도록, 다양한 질감을 직접 만지고 느끼는 체험형 전시를 기획했다.

This torture device paradoxically forces the victim into a position that makes it impossible to fall asleep at the moment they most desperately need sleep, forcing them to experience the preciousness of sleep. By physically depriving them of sleep by immobilizing them with restraints, it reveals both the human desire for rest and its deprivation.

가장 잠이 간절한 순간, 절대 잠들 수 없는 자세를 강제하여 역설적으로 잠의 소중함을 체감하게 하는 고문 도구다. 구속구로 신체를 고정해 수면을 물리적으로 박탈함으로써, 휴식에 대한 인간의 간절한 열망과 결핍을 드러낸다.

We reimagine the gum on the market floor as a landscape of accumulated memories, connecting these traces to the craftsmanship of artist residency 'Sindang Creative Arcade'. By transforming everyday materials into artistic objects, this exhibition elevates mundane remnants into art and invites viewers to rediscover a familiar space from a fresh perspective.
